Canelo Alvarez not in terms with the WBC mandatory

The soothing connection of the Mexican star boxer Saul Alvarez and the World Boxing Council seem to be worn out.
A statement released on Wednesday by the Sanctioning body directs the super-welterweight champion to fight the winner between Erislandy Lara of Cuba (17-1-1,11 knockouts) and still unbeaten Vanes “The Nightmare” Martirosyan of Glendale(32-0, 20 KOs) in WBC title-elimination session on Saturday.
This makes the fight against Sergio Martinez, Floyed Mayweather Jr. or Miguel Cotto (if Austin Trout is defeated on Dec.1) the obvious preference for Alvarez.
“Hail to the announcement by President Jose Sulaiman. Our fighter has got the proper reward and will compete in his third WBC eliminator,” Bob Arum, the Martirosyan promoter told.
Arum added that the money for the eliminators has been given by the President himself.
“The winner of Martirosyan-Lara is a ‘compulsory’ challenger to Alvarez,” boxingscene.com reports the words of Sulaiman.
If Alvarez choses to fight with someone else leads to aconfusing state of the Mexico-based WBC, because of both Martirosyan and Lara not being a main-event draw, which may result in losing sanctioning fees.
“The decision of the WBC is not that big to deal with,” said Richard Schaefer, promoter of Alvarez, ”Alvarez had told me that he is not willing to take lesser fight with the winner of Martirosyan-Lara but will wait for a stronger opponent in May.”
According to Schaefer, if Alvarez gets the opportunity to fight with the best, he should consider that with greater priority.
“Sorry, I have no report regarding the returning of Mayweather to the ring,” Schaefer told. Mayweather was last seen in the technical knockout in Las Vegas in May 5 who was behind the bars due to a domestic violence incident.
The family of the late trainer Angelo Dundee is putting the noted boxing mementos for auction, after the death of Carmen Basilio, Angelo Dundee’s one of the many great fighters.
“Some of the antics, including Muhammad Ali’s gloves worn in 1964 victory against Sonny Liston, the mouthpiece worn by Ali in his last fight with Trevor berbick and the gloves of Sugar Ray Leonard are chosen to be the ‘boxing’s crown jewels’,” said spokesman of SCP Auctions Dan Imler.
“A portion of the funds will go to the Foundation,” said Jim, Dundee’s son.
Shane Mosely, the multi-division boxing champion of Pomona and Leigh Steinberg, the sports agent will be honored on Sunday in Dana Point.

New MLB player Roy Oswalt took place instead of Yu Darvish due to his treatment

Yu Darvish who is the right hand of Texas Rangers cannot make his scheduled start on Thursday because of his tight exercise. There is also a schedule on Tuesday for Darvish against the MLB Baseball team Tampa Bay Rays. Roy Oswalt will take Darvish’s place on Thursday who has joined last Saturday.
Darvish is a 26 year experienced player in MLB and in his warm up session on Tuesday he felt some discomfort in his exercise at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. He is now under treatment.
Darvish could start if he is necessary for MLB; he told that to the Ron Washington, club manager but club decided to rest him. Washington said that he can’t take any type of chances and they can skip him until his next turn.
To test his injury he was practicing some light jogging and the batting practice on Wednesday and the injury is considered not much serious.
According to Darvish’s statement he felt a little quad during his bullpen session on yesterday. It is just a precaution and it is a small problem and he want to handle it before it gets too big for him. He talked about it to the coaches and made the decision is that MLB Baseball team will go forward without him.
In spite of his injury he has not missed a single session of start all. But the club wants to give him more time to rest before the second half of the session.
A player from Japan called rookie pitcher is with a 4.51 ERA and 12-9 with 172 strikeouts and 80 walks. On Wednesday he entered with second position in the AL walks and fourth position in strikeouts.
That was quality starts which were Darvish’s first two outings. During Spain he was 1-1 and on Friday there was solid showing on Toronto. Darvish got one walk that was against Blue Jays and with 10 strikeouts he got 3 hits. But he lost with Rangers fell by 3-2. It was the second time in the 23 starts.
Roy Oswalt in the place of Yu Darvish made his eight sessions start on Thursday in MLB Baseball. On Saturday he allowed in 4 2/3 innings two hits and one run in Toronto. He is falling one because he is shy of the winning. With Rangers he is in 4-2 with 10 appearances and 6.04 ERA.
Roy Oswalt was practicing a bullpen session on Tuesday night if he will be needed for Thursday’s game.
